saving to EXR with Vray?

nder menu still works fine.

ALSO anyone want to help me with compositing a (multichannel) EXR? I am trying to do what this tutorial says, (http://sovibrant.co.uk/threads/view/28/sovibrant-university/photoshop/exr-layer-setup) but the reflection and refraction layers black everything out.

If someone with Nuke or ProEXR or something could check to see I'm at least OUTPUTTING it properly that'd be grand :)

Unsure about your format output issues... I'd suggest installing one of the new nightlies to see if it was just a UI glitch in render globals (happens).

In terms of compositing, VRay is completely additive when you're dealing with the basic passes, so...

Lighting + GI + Reflection + Refraction + Self Illumination + SSS

In Nuke, you'd plus them all together. Merge each pass and change the mode to plus. In photoshop, you'd use linear add as a layering mode assuming you're working with EXR.

If you need more control, you can re-create some of the passes by using a raw pass multiplied by something.

Rawlighting * diffuse = lighting
Rawgi * diffuse = gi
Rawreflection * reflectionfilter = reflection
Rawrefraction * refractionfilter = refraction

Note that if you use additive mode in VRay blend materials, your beauty renders might not always equal your assembled passes. They'll be close, but not identical.
