See those lines along the walls and the pixelated corner and the part under the red ball?

Here's my Mental Ray settings (GI and Final Gather)

And just a shaded view.

I rendered it to a targa file. Question is, how do I get rid of those pixelated areas and those lines?

Those 'pixelated areas' are caused because of lack of final gather rays. When you first test a render you should use 100(quickest). You are currently using 300 which is not enough to clean up those areas. If you want to blast those of the face of your render, turn up your FG rays to 1000. It will slow your render down BIG TIME, but they will be gone. The scene isnt too complex so you might want to try 400 then 500 etc., so you can try to optimize your render time. Chances are 500-600 will clean up that area.

Also, you might want to leave FG radius at 0. If it is left at zero MR will autmatically set the radius for you. However if you know how to set the radius up(some info on that in this forum somewhere or at highend) then go for it:beer:

Thanks for the input.

As for the lines, I found out what was causing them:

My stupid monitor!!!:annoyed:

It was the moire settings, and I adjusted them so that the lines go away. However, doing so reduces the quality of everything else, such as the text on this webpage.

What should I go for?

As mentioned ,to get rid of those 'pixelated areas' you need to increase the rays of the final gathering. But I'd like to say that when you test render with an untextured object, the effect is more clear. try to use some texture on the floor and your objects and you'll see less artifacts.
Good luck.

Also, does photon volume accuracy do anything?

Increasing your Final Gathering's min and max radius should do the trick. A good rule of thumb is to take the total width of your scene, divide that by 10 and make that result your max radius, then divide that number by 10 to get your min radius.

Ex: Scene width = 10 units
FG Max Radius = 1
FG Min Radius = .1

These numbers are only a starting point. You may need to try increasing them to smooth things out, or decreasing them if there's not enough shadow detail.

Yes, you use that when you've got GI/Caustics working in a volume. Like if you had a glass sitting in a smokey room and you had caustics in the smoke.
