Hey Mates:

I am interested in getting a project going with a small team of people who would like created new, interesting, and action impact SCI-FI Short-Film.

A short film containing large number of cruisers in heated battle, humans and humanoid characters in their interacting environment while in battle, special interesting effects for new weapons, shields, and others. The focus will be on a set of characters making decisions and interacting with each other from the beginning to end of the story.

I really don't have a full story line but have a general idea. Would not mind molding these ideas into a story-line and taking it all the way to final production.

If there are any artists (Concept, 3D Modeler, Textures, Ligthing, Post, etc..) with-in Arizona who would like to work on a project with no dead-line I would be interested in working with you guys. L.A guys are also welcome to get involve since i visit there often.

Anyway this is a shot in the dark since there is a lot of projects already going in here. I have a lot of time freeing up and don't like to waiste it if we can put it to some good creative use. Maybe present it at a short-film festival. LOL.... if and when it is finished.

Cheers - Jay

Can you tell us more about yourself? The idea seems nice, but I think you will need to be alot more specific to attract interest.

You never know though.

If you would like to work on another Sci-Fi project please take a look at our thread (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=78961). We are not actively recruiting at the moment as we are still developping the script, but any interest or ideas are very welcome.

Hey Mate:

I saw you post mate and it looks really cool!!! Sounds like you guys got a great team going over there in the U.K.

Well if people must know, I could shed a little light about myself. I am an industrial designer but my passion has always been in 3D Modeling but also very well versed in texturing and lighting. Since my industrial design work is coming to an end, I do have quite sometime off before I may be able to find another project. Between contracts and project base industrial design works I spend a good amount of time brushing up and improve my 3D skills in the area mentioned above. I have visions of one day doing an animated short-film but I know that is not typically a one man project.

In between work I freelance as a graphic designer so I also have strong 2D skills. So most of my 3D works I do all of my own texturings but not yet the strongest.

3D skill set wise, I am very proficient in NURBS modeling as I have to model a very clean and manufacturable Class A Surface. I am am also proficient in Polygonal modeling but would like to improve more on it through project such as the one I am posting. Packages wise I am currently 3DSMAX proficient but also getting started on MAYA. Well either way I am slowly working on some concept now but would be great to created something in a team effort with varities of background.

Well I hope this at least give people a little some idea about myself but hopefully and utimately we can all come out this learning alot from each other and perseverance to create a stunning animate film.

Benork, you guys got a great ideas going so keep up the good work. Hope to you see your teams' work down the road.

Cheers - Jay ;)

Thanks for the support. We have a great team thats for sure, but I'm the only UK based member at the moment heh.

My advice to you if you want to recruit people is to post some links to work you have done and come up with at least a story outline.

You don't have to script or storyboard anything, but a rough story is a really good starting point. I know that in our case we worked out the story as we went along, but we knew from the start alot about the universe the story is based in.

I'm sure you will work something out. Good luck with it
