here's my start on my first cgtalk contest.
my idea is based on a organic and almost organ like environment.
i 'm a big fan of the organic look of art nouveau style of architecture. this is style is going to attempt to be controlled by a series of veins ala Meats miers style. which i'm absolutely in awe of. here's some early sketch's

i'll test this image and then add more
thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions.

This is a really great conceot. I like it muchly. In regards to the coloured sketches.
RED
This looks like the inside of a creature. The colours remind me of the inside of my mouth... especially if you make it slimy.
BLUE
The blue one could be like an icey cave. The floor could be a big ice lake... or have a mysty floor due to how cold it is.
I'd go with the red at the moment. Blue looks creepy, but red looks like you really don't belong.
Can't wait to see more.

thank's for the replies. i sort of realize the indestinquishable look at the top. think of it as a giant body cavity with skin and organs being reshaped by nerve and vein clusters. making it cavernous.
i think it might be better explianed with a little 3d which i'm starting some mach ups now.

I was going to say it is too uniform... but I have already changed my mind. Looking good.
The stairs worry me though.... they seem very out of place

I disagree concerning the stairs. :) I think they're cool, and give the image scale. Can't wait to see the finished image! :bounce: *Very* cool idea!
