i just picked up a new msi gf4ti4600 it has a video in and it works gret for video capture which is why i got it but i was wondering if there was any way to use that video in to watch tv on my pc ? i would think if i had a prog that would decode the cable signel then it should work but im not sure if anyone has any info on doing something like this please let me know

Well, video in is just that, in. You would need a video out port for viewing on a TV or recording on a VCR.

no the other way around i want to watch the tv on the pc ( it has a video out also and that does put it out to the tv )

you'll need a tuner card if you want to connect your system directly to cable. If you want to use a VCR for your tuner then you'll need tuning software, but i'm not sure if there are any software packages that only do that. From my experience, tuning software is bundled with a tv tuner card.

If you're interested in the tuner route, I'd recommend ATI or Pinnacle
