Hey Everyone, right before power grids all over the world shut down because of the solar storm particles coming our way, i would like to do a procedural made Sun, in Maya.

The Thing is that i am having a hard time making the surface layer where it is indandescent, and having a layer underneath that i also incandecent but that appears through the transparency of the first one....

Oh my gosh i am so not clear.. i a pologize, i believe a picture is better.

(do "Save Target As" if doesn't work)

I made some tries but nothing really equivalent to that picture.

Thank you for reading this, and i hope you can help me out.

Thanks a lot!

Xavier

I think your best bet would be fluids. There are a couple of presets that come with maya 4.5(and 5.0 im sure) that have a very similar look to it. Create a 3d fluid container.open the attribute editor>click on presets and check them out.

Of course im assuming you have maya 4.5 or higher.
