View Full Version : New 'Matrix' Games Possible

"Silver added that there is talk about doing another video game, beyond the current hit Enter the Matrix. "There's a moment in [The Matrix Revolutions], when Seraph [Collin Chou] comes in with Neo [Keanu Reeves] and Trinity [Carrie-Anne Moss] and Morpheus, and the Merovingian [Lambert Wilson] says to him, 'Oh, the prodigal son returns.' And the boys [writers/directors Larry and Andy Wachowski] wanted to kind of explore that backstory. So that may be something that they deal with in a video game. But there will be other areas of Matrix material, but there will not be any more movies." The Matrix Revolutions, which wraps up the trilogy, opens worldwide on Nov. 5."

ooh cool. i haven't had any time to play videogames, but i really like how they're expanding the story with the animatrix and games.

I heard that first matrix game was crap, but I have the DVD, and watched what they are trying to do, and think it's worthy addition to a film. Enhancing the experience of film is really good idea. I played Bounty Hunter, and really liked the additional information I got from the story that was told, and the game play was great. I wish I could have finished it.
I totally liked playing the Spider-Man game. That was great.

The game was not very good at all but the fighting and all the crazy moves were well done. They should have asked some Japanese company like Konami to do it, I think they would have done a better job. Either way I want Matrix to continue after the movies. I would love more Animatrix. Episodes like the hunted house are so simple, so detached from the main story yet so fun to watch. There is a lot they can do.

The Enter the Matrix game blew hard. I agree that it was a very clever and unique idea, but it execution was crap. I even thought it looked pretty bad before it came out. Then I played it.
I have one request:
Whoever was in charge of making the characters go up and down ladders should be drug out into the street and shot.
I would have been happier if they just took the Max Payne game and modded it with Matrix characters and backgrounds.
A big problem was that it was just so overhyped and pushed to be released on the same day as RELOADED. Big Mistake! This game could have used another year in production and debugging.
The new Online Matrix game however sounds very interesting. If I get broadband anytime in the forseeable future I will definitely be looking for this one.

Silver needs to be kicked in the nuts
he gave away so much of the plot to Reloaded, after the Wachowski brothers told everyone not to say a thing
and now he is blowing stuff about revolutions...
:shame:

The thing is we already know the biggest spoiler ever due to info about the Online game, it is set way past Revolutions. That much was revealed on the official site if I remember well.
