I just tried it on my system and I believe I get on average 20-24 fps on 1080p with everything set to high. It looks mind blowing though.

I have a gtx 470, i7 920 and 6gb of ram for reference.

wow, that does look good. I wonder why us motion graphics designers are no doing most of our work in a real time environment? For the most part we can be real time.

That looks yummy! so much prettier and detailed than the DX9 version of the game. Although i can't say the DX9 version looks bad because it didn't. But this is still a lot better!

That looks a lot better ! even on youtube. Will try it out tonight.

Next is the AI update, which hopefully will come out soon.

I saw a link hinting they were also working on a AI patch, but not sure if it's
official yet.

if it would just stop from enemies going around circle and killing themselves with their own
grenades, it would be nice :)

"Cry-Tom, comunnity manager at Crytek hints another update for Crysis 2: "The team working on DX11 aren't the same team working on textures and AI". More details inside the news!"

So elequent :-/

That being said, you're right, this is three months too late, I've played the game already and I enjoyed it but I'm not interested in going through it again.

FrostBite3 does look good but it doesn't have any baring (bearing?) on Crysis as they're two very different games.

by the way,
there is the directX11 update which is about 500MB
http://www.fileplanet.com/220741/220000/fileinfo/Crysis-2-DirectX-11-Pack
and there is also the high rez texture pack, 1.6Gb :

downloading right now.
the directX11 will probably be nice, but high rez textures are even better.

it looks sweet with those additional packs :)
its no biggie for me as i was just probably about 4 levels deep so i plan to start over so i can take it all in :)

This is already one impressive looking game in DX9 which was actually fun to play, not just for the visuals. Getting these updates is an added bonus

I'm running it on an i7 2600k @4.8GHz/GTX 580 DX11/High Rez pack on Ultra settings 1920x1200 and getting some pretty impressive visuals in the firefights.

What I most especially like is the new tone mapping. It makes the lighting much more realistic and vivid. The new SSAO renamed for SSDO (directional occlusion) is quite nice as well. Well in fact, I enjoy all the new features! ;) I just hope they're going to release an AI update because this game needs it.
