View Full Version : The Best Visual Effects and Compositing School/Program in North America?

Hey guys!

I just wanted to know which school is the best at Visual Effects (strictly). I've seen programs where you have to learn animation in general, but I would like to specialize in Visual Effects and Compositing.

Considering that compositing is part of visual effects, along with about ten other disciplines, I can't really see how you can "specialise" in VFX. On the contrary, if you want to work in VFX, you should choose one discipline and specialise in that.

AAU has a strong program in VFX and Comping. It has a lot to offer if you take advantage of it.

I too am a student of Academy of Art University, MFA in Animation & VFX. It is a good school to go to, but like all other schools you need to take your education into your own hands.

I am a Digital Matte Painter and Concept artist graduating this fall, 2011. It has been the experience of a lifetime for me.
I have also gone to two other colleges for degrees, I got my A.A.S in Animation from Art Institute of Seattle, and my Bachelors at Westwood College. So far AAU has been top notch.

Hey shallon, how many years does the study process take in AAU?I mean how many years fir BAchelor and MA?
