As you can tell, this is very very rough, and the idea has changed a bit. It'd probably be kind of pointless to tell any of the story right now since this isn't a very good rep. of what is being done, so that can be left until later. Thanks for looking!

Came quite a ways from the original concept sketches. This is a bit closer to what was originally in my head. Feel free to tell me what you think.

This one has a little deeper sky with much more motion and variation in colors. The haze will probably be lifted just a bit so one can make out the monolithic forms that will be in the background. This piece does have a story to go along with it, should I post that too? Thanks for looking and dropping a few lines.

I apologize for being so late with my wip posts, things got kinda hectic. Here are two of the models which will be implemented in the piece. More posts to come. Feel free to leave your comments.

This is the texture that will be used in and for the sky. There will be a few layers of this which you will see come together in the compositing process.

Here's a bit o' water plane. Again, this will be composited in the final image and is going to be used for sort of an, um... well optical illusion comes to mind, but that's not quite it. Feel free to leave some comments.

I decided to post this final render before the lighting category for two reasons:
1. there's already a fair amount of light placement going on in the final render,
2. the rest of the light work is going to be done in post to better form continuity between the different composited layers.
Let me know what you think of this one. The booger to forever to render.

Lee. I'd love to see this with the foreground reds (volumetric fog?) toned down. You've got some very nice textures, but they're almost completely obscured by the haze. As a result, what might have been an otherworldly equivalent of an Ansel Adams composition ends up being frustrating; I'm catching glimpses of something interesting, but it's simply overwhelmed by the haze.

Here the scene has been lit in it's somewhat final form. Theres still a bit of tweaking to do though, especially when the post effects are added in. Feel free to drop a line.

Very nice, but tone down the haze. Make more of the ground visible.

 so amazing
its a full and nice image.such as other friends i think the a little decreasing the density of the fog is better.
i think that it could be a final image(of course its my idea).
but you could import a important thing at the foreground .
at all its a good and inspired image.
good luck to you:bowdown:

A bit more sky was added, as well as the formations in the fore ground. Still a bit of fussing to do. The haze in the fore ground becomes more subdued with the added elements I hope. Drop a line and tell me what you think, and thanks much for all the comments so far.

This will probably be the last composite post before the final image is submitted. There are a few more elements to add so feel free to drop a few lines. Thanks for looking.

You have chosen very powerful colors. Im my opinion you shouldn't add anything else that will be too distracting from that.
Keep up the good work!

Damn, the mood is absolutely brilliant! I love the athmosphere you create here, very mystical like a sunsrise on an alien planet!!!
Your dreamscape rockz big time! Just the grondfog is a bit too opaque, as your valey disapears now, under it 90%, I loved the full red version in fog amount(last img on p1), it was perfect ballanced.
Have fun with the finetuning and keep on rockin'!
Best luck!!!:buttrock: :wip:
