Decided to try out my hand at this contest... though somehow i feel sort of out of my league ;)

began modelling the first structure, just as a test to experiment how i was going to go about it, ended up finding box modelling being the easiest method

think i found a base texture for the globes, ah the wonders of cheap fast raytracing

Nice work... where all your cliff faces are, instead of being rocky I envision a stretch gooy material there.

most recent update, did a bit of work with particle arrays, which id never done before but hey, i figure ill learn something while im workin!

I know you're not done, but the model looks plain. Maybe make som bumps and cracks in the geometry, or are you going to use a lot of bumpmaps and/or displacementmaps?
I think it looks very interesting. Good concept art as well.

shapes are looking nice - currently looking friendly and inviting... but yeah... interested to see what you do with the textures.

cullen & freka, thanks for the comments, yes i plan on adding a pretty heavy bump map for the texturing to give the shapes a more complex feel.

quick update, added another building, also trying to get a feel for how i wanted the shadows to look, nowhere near correct but its a start
It's realy looking nice now.
Just keep on going. Even if it is so little time,
believe me, this is more than enough to finish it.

well front buildings, with exception to a few tweeks are done modeling.
