quite nice model.
how about adding a little bit of color variation to the texture? I think it might make it 'pop' a bit more, as the main focus of attention is currently competing with the base that the beast is standing on.
2cents.

the face looks kinda plumpy and nice :D
make it snarling. show some teeth :D
and for the skin, add some stripes and dots and colors, make it look real scary and exciting.

I agree with a more "popping" texture. Right now there is no variation in skin location. His underbelly, throat, and insides of his thighs should be a bit softer looking or at the very least different than the tough outer hide of his back, outer thighs, 'elbows' and tail.
Color variations are also a "must." Whether they be splotches, mottles, spots, stripes... they can greatly improve it if done properly.
Great work nonetheless!
