View Full Version : Batch output name files
belly80naz 10-28-2003, 03:26 PM I come from XSI and the XSI's batch is perfect in my opinion:buttrock: , but the first time that I use the Maya's batch I'm going crazy: everytime after the render I must rename every frame to "name.xxx.tga" where xxx is the number of frame. The name for default in Maya's batch is "name.TGA.xxx", why? And, how can I have "name.xxx.tga" file names?
And, what about "fields" in maya's batch??????? :thumbsdow
And how can I hide a layer and render the scene, unhide the layer and re-render the scene via batch???? :thumbsdow

if u render with maya software you can choose between name-#-ext and name-ext-#. Newer use xxx for frame padding.. There is a padding option and you choose 3 if u need 3#.. If use mentalRay you may choose only name-#-ext..
have fun :p

I'm sorry, for "xxx" I don't mean sex or erotic things, but the number or frame like 001, 002, 003.... And I talk about maya's batch in the windows' "command's prompt", not "Render->Batch render"
Am I clear??

Io li voglio in formato "nomefile.001.tga", "nomefile.002.tga", "nomefile.003.tga" e così via per arrivare a "nomefile.009.tga", "nomefile.010.tga", "nomefile.011.tga" e avanti così, capito?

he try to explain that maya can render sequence files via prompt command line... he is a bit nostalgic with the "old dos prompt".... he need to batch render a frame sequence outside maya.. from dos prompt... but it need frame padding >1... So i suggest to read the documents that explain as well all the commands avaiable for do things to create batch files... i also suggest to save the scene with all the setting he like (frame padding, start-end, extension)... so he can easely render with few words in the command line....
Ti prego caro belly80naz di scrivere in inglese le tue domande... per i messaggi in italiano puoi utilizzare i messaggi PRIVATI --- GRAZIE :p
