ZeroNeuro 06-06-2002, 12:58 PM I would like opinions on this work. It's my first posting in cgtalk. Hope you all like it. It was the last thing I did with 3DS Max, I have since switched to Maya and am learning that program bit by bit. I may do something similar in Maya just for fun.

Great work, I like it! The reflections cast by the apples are a nice touch, just noticed that for some reason. As a suggestion you might want to make the skull a bit more dirty, I think it would be more fit for the scene. Either way it looks very realistic.

Any chance you'd be willing to share the model of that skull?

Just a curious question here, is that skull a..a..oh shoot what's it called, Viewpoint? A company that makes models of..uh..everything, they have a package of a whole helluva bunch of cds.
Anyways, the texturing on the skull reminds of the skull they have, so I'm just pondering if it comes from one of those cds.

Wow. Wow! Woooww!!! :buttrock:
But you could make a much realistic skull material. Make blurred shadows and render it from other point of view.
Alything else is great.

No, it's not a viewpoint. Tho I could have used a viewpoint model when I started this. However, later on I did use a viewpoint model to check my geometry against. It helped me figure out the creases in the nose ridge. I have updated the skull model since then. I'll see if I can put it somewhere.
I like Maya. Though I am finding UV mapping to be more difficult than any other package.
:) I have been away. I was in the negotiating stage with some clients, and I had to upgrade my netowrk. THAT was fun. Ever tried getting video card OGL drivers installed for RedHat 7.2? Oh gee. What fun. *chuckle*
Thanks for you comments, and as soon as I get this latest project done, I'll post an image here.
Fare thee well
