Here´s a plugin thet lets you view .iff files in any windows browser. There´s also a .tga plugin and a softimage .pic one.

good suggestion.
Still i wish to get something like acdsee that supports maya iff.
windows can't browse other formats like gif, so when i have a bunch of mixed formats in one folder its problematic.
And windows explorer plugin can't save IFF to different formats.

If you have Photoshop, there is an iff pluggin on the installation cd. It works great for me. Lets you browse, open and save to other formats.

Oops it does.
My problem been I can't view the maya4.5/brushimages/*.iff files. However if I resave them in fcheck I can view them in xnview...I wonder why.
Theres some compatability problem in xnView(1.61), as I could view those brush file in the IFF explorer plugin.

Thats wierd that you can't view some iff images, but others you can.
For example photoshop will open iff images created by maya's default renderer, but images rendered with mental ray will not open. I have to manualy open them in f-check and re-save them out as iff images.
