Hi,

I am making an animation where a tool has a blade attached to a pin. This pin allows the blade to rotate open and closed while still staying attached to the over all tool. I need to make the blade open and the tool rotate all at the same time and have the blade stay on the pin. If anyone has any idea as to how to do this please help.

Hope I'm understanding it correctly! If it's a switchblade setup, then you could use a link constraint for the blade, pick the pin as the link target - that will make it follow it. Then animate the blade opening and closing. I've attached a simple scene I hacked together - hopefully that's what you're looking for.
