View Full Version : Fur attribute map resolution problem

I'm working on a character with fur in Maya 2011. The diffuse map, from which the fur colors are derived (base and tip) is 2048x2048.

As is mentioned many times in this forum, Maya fur doesn't update much of anything if you don't bake the attributes. However, doing that reduces the resulting baked fur attribute map to 512x512 although I did set the bake attribute map width and height to 2048.

The difference in the final render is very noticeable, just look at the area just above the eyes:

How can I bring Maya to either bake to the specified 2048x2048 resolution or reliably use the specified diffuse map DIRECTLY?

Thanks in advance for any insights on this.
