I m trying to figure out a way to integrate a reverse foot setup inside a CAT rig.

What i did so far was create a leg with the ankle option unchecked and parent the LegPlatform to a max bones reverse foot setup. Works fine but unfortunately everything below the LegPlatform get ignored by CAT, so for example the custom reverse foot gets left behind whenever i try to load/save/mirror poses. Even tho i added the custom bones to the CAT Rig (via the Add Rigging Objects Button).

Anyone faced the problem and come up with a solution?

Try creating the reverse foot set up with CAT Arb Bones rather than non-CAT objects that later get added to the rig. E.g. select your pelvis and Add Bone, unlink that bone from the pelvis and relink it to the CAT parent, and continue that process to create a reverse foot set-up.

Thanks, that helped. Problem was the unchecked ankle option.
Everything works fine and copy/mirror pose works, but unfortunately just in Animation Layers.

I d'like to do this in setup mode so the animator dont have adjust the animatable pivot from the footplatform to the ankle everytime they add a new layer.
here is what i did in setup mode:

1.Build the reverse foot rig using CAT Bones and linked it to the Foot Platform

2. Position constrained the ankle bone(from the standard CAT leg) to a Helper wich is linked to the Ball Bone of the reverse foot rig (using Animation Controller instead of Static Matrix and checked the 'Additive To Setup Pose' in the Link Info).

The result after switching to Animation Layer is a riped apart foot rig floating somewhere in space. Also the position of the FK Leg is off and i cant fit it to the IK Position (Match IK and FK wont work).

I m sure there is a solution somewhere but i just dont understand why CAT make easy things so complicated. Cant remember Puppetshop gave me this kind of headaches. Can someone help?

Ok, i've found the animation layer problem. Both Feet standing right where they should when switching to animation mode. All i've done was switching back to Static Matrix for the Foot Platforms and it worked. Even the FK Leg stays in place now.

PROBLEM SOLVED :)

This is a big thank you for saving me from a tone of trouble! I can't believe I hadn't know this all this years I have been using CAT.

thanks again
