How realistic are you going for on the loco? If you want a botique feel you have it. If you want more realistic you need to either closely copy a diagram, or learn the parts, to wit: oil tank, water tank, feeder hoses, sand hoses, whistle resivor, etc.

I do like the direction you are going over all. Good stuff.

thanks for the feedback there guys, it means a lot to me,

I myself do not know how to procede with the image, i want to texture but i also dont want to texture,

what i really want is for maxon to put it in the gallery, so i'll do what it takes for it to be in there,

Nice, but it feels kind of empty, not empty as in old west empty, which I assume you are going for, but just empty.

The ground needs to look more like dirt, maybe some pebbles, and rocks, perhaps a tumbleweed might help also.

But other than that, looking good.

The smoke stack is too large and the cow catcher looks like it's extending too far out front and is missing the iron bar around the bottom to hold it together the engine cylinder is too small and if you look at the roofs of the locos, you'll notice there is a very slight peek to em. this is a good beginning, but if you are doing this for work or contest, there is a lot lot lot to add. there are guide rods you are missing... lots of detail... and I think you need to also look at the wheels again, they are sized wrong as well. I like the idea of mist, but the app is off, it looks more like the thing is shooting outa a cloud then rolling out of some fog.

Over all it's nice, and I can tell you put work into it, just more to do.

thanks for more feed back from more folk,

its a really helpfull place this

for the time being I've had to stop the work on this image,

i do want to add more, but also quite like its style as it is, if i do texture it, it will almost certainly jump style or go down the photorealstic road that im trying to avoid,

i do want it in maxons gallery though...hehe,

so texturing it will have to be...

thanks again,
