View Full Version : Kinect Motion Capture

Hi all, im working on a little piece of character animation using the kinect for motion capture.

So far i have created my mocap data, and i have the kinect skeleton in MotionBuilder that has keys on every frame.

I then plotted this to a fk/ik control rig, which is characterized, and proceeded to edit the control rig and the fCurves of the contol rig to clean up my motion capture animation and the key frames on the fCurves.

Now i have the animation on the control rig, that i want to export to maya to drive a custom rig within there. However i know i need to plot the control rig back to my skeleton but when i select it and click plot skeleton the control rig dissapears (becomes inactive) and there is no change to the original kinect rig. (it still has keys on every frame)

Can anyone offer some suggestions as im banging my head against a wall with this.

Because plotting turns a Control Rig off (which doesn`t mean it disappears, it`s just inactive). Also plotting means putting keyframe on every frame, even if you have only two keys on your control rig.
