Hi Guys,

I am pretty new to animation in 3D max so excuse my ignorance. I am trying to animate a CD spinning but am having trouble doing so. The disc is 10° off the world axis. Now when I try to rotate it, the axis of rotation reverts back to that of the world, not of the individual object, so its spins out of wack. When I check the pivoit it matches the object but as soon as I select it to rotate it I get the world axis?? Is there some way of selecting the object axis as opposed to the world axis..

Tell me if this makes no sence.

Cheers

Chris

Just change your reference coordinate system to "Local" instead of whatever it is on at the moment (probably "World" or "View"). It's the little drop-down menu right in the centre of the main toolbar.

Ah thanks i'll give that ago.

Another quick question ;)

Is there any way to apply a glow to an object that fades in and or out, instead of just coming on instantly.

I am using video post to add the glow but cant see any way to make it fade in????

Thanks again

chris
