View Full Version : Need some urgent help(glove making)
lebada 10-26-2003, 02:39 PM okay. the glove(its supposed to be a hockey one) i am supposed to bend into shape.
its something cartoony and it will be black and white so colors, txtures, etc dont matter.
i used the bend modifier but it just bends the whole thing in a 360 circle. the glove isnt nearly as good as a 360 circle as we all know.
i tried but every time i try to basically twist something, something else screws up.
this is supposed to be done by tuesday alongisde a character.
if ANY and i do mean any of you have time to help me, i'll mail you the max file. i just need to bend it into shape so i can finish the last part of the modelling and then try to make some bones to work with it. so i need help as soon as possible:eek: :buttrock:

I look at the picture over and over!
but how on earth is that a glove??
maybe try to tesselate it with 1 or 2 iterations en then bend it or fix some connections in there. you cant bend if you dont have any vertices

Hi,
I'm not sure why you have to use the image and file you have been given? But if you don't, I would just box model the glove and try to include all the segments you see in your picture. A hockey glove is one of the few things I can think of that actualy looks like a low poly model in real life. Heres my try at it, and it doesn't take much time at all. Good luck and sorry if I missunderstood your question.:)

Bend it with bones and the skin modifier (reference help file).

okay..basically the whole glove padding is pure out flat(hence the top viewport pic)
i need to "bend" that padding and basically "stich" the 2 ends together so i can build the inside of the glove(the leather under the padding->its form the palm of the glove).
now you know my "question?:surprised :)
I'm also a little puzzled by your problem!
let me see if I what I think you're asking is what you're actually asking (that was confusing!) :D
You want to fold the two sides of your glove over?
If so, then basically the only advice I can give is to manually select the verts that you need to be 'folded' over, then rotate them - then move them into position (to counter the stretching from the initial rotation).
Given my pretty crap advice I'm not sure I understand 100% what you're asking - so let me know!
