Ditto. Deserves its own page and award even! Tremendous.

I kinda remember some excerpts being up there maybe back in 2010(?!)
But there is so much more to see now that I think it deserves a revisit...

Just wondering, since I never heard anyone express this before, why don't you usually like short films?

Hi,

thanks for all the kind words. We are really happy to hear you like the film. It's a great reward for all the work we put into it.

Cheers,

I saw Loom 'tweeted' a couple of days ago and immediately decided everyone I work with had to see it to :) I'm not usually one to make sweeping comments like this but seriously, I think this is probably my favourite animated short that I've seen; everything just works so well together. Obviously, as CG artists we can heap praise on the level of detail crazy texturing and effects, but once we strip all that back, it's the cinematography and the combination of abstract motion gfx and photorealism that really makes it stand out.

I loved how the mood changes after the moth has been paralysed. It suddenly changes from a super-frantic, violentic struggle to a state of peacefulness as the moth succumbs to it's fate. The sound design deserves massive praise too, I love how they've maintained an essence of that electro-mechanicalness that started with 458NM.

Thank I'll watch it again...
