View Full Version : Bevel Curves Error need help please!

When I try to bevel 2 curves using bevel plus, I keep getting an error message that says: Error: Cannot convert data of type string to type int[]. If anyone has ran into this error or problem, or has any suggestions please let me know.

Oh, and It is using the two curves from Deathbrain's Nurbs car seat tutorial, during the bevel of the curves for the seatbelt holder piece, just incase Deathbrain has ran into this error as well.

Thank you,

Dan

Open bevel plus option > go to output options, select geometry output to nurbs then apply..:)

I tried that but now the error says that the first curve must be outside the others. It is outside the others unless I have missunderstood what is going on here.

Nothin really just thought that since you made the tut that you might have ran into more problems then someone else. That's all, sorry.

Your curves worked very nicely. I don't know what were wrong with mine. It might be the way I created them maybe. I do greatly appreciate it Deathbrain.

Your welcome xcelon, yea basically a bit difficult with curves, they should close each other..snap the cvs..smooth curves..reverse direction...yes a bit heavy works :)

If it's not too much to ask, I was wondering how you have your settings set for the circular fillet right before the bevel step. I would try to figure it out on my own but it seems to take a bit for it to calculate everytime I change something in the option box. Sorry to bother you even more, but Im a Max 5 user and just started Maya 5.

Thanks again,

Dan

Basically fillet needs more calculation within Maya, thats why Maya take a bit calculation everytime we changed the value in the option box, on this case, we could start with small value around 0.012 or something, but i'd rather to circular filleting directly, rather than use option box, to filleting directly, we could test a circular fillet and undo it (several times ) until we found the right value :)

I just used a smaller radius starting with what you had mentioned and it calculated much faster and I just messed with it and got what I wanted. I was just using too big of a radius. I thank you again.

your welcome...
btw looks like you're on the final steps, for texturing, you could use 512x512 pixel of carpet texture with repeat uv arround 12x12, that would be good..:)

If you'd like I can post a pic up of the seat when i get some textures on it. If not then thats ok too, I dont want to start a WIP thread here;)

But for now I'm gonna go to sleep.
