little initial concept thumbnail thingys
(no scanner here, so a snapshot)
i already know the materials and textures i'm going to be using so these are really just to explore composition. not textures, details, etc.
most are horizontal, but i think ultimately i'm gonna go with vertical layout. like the one in the bottom right corner.
still plenty o time though.

In order, from upper left corner to right, one row down at the time:
1. Nice visceral feeling. Like you are in the belly of something and you look out just to realise that you have no escape, the whole planet is a giant living stomack !
2. Ocean of spitting magma, just absorbing some sphere of uncertain origin.
3. You are not serious ! That goes for the first one too. I guess you are not allowed to represent creatures. I am not sure if that goes for the guy who takes the picture, too. So pic nr. 1 could be OK, but pic nr. 3, it is not an option ! Too bad because the background structure is not bad at all.
4. Nice landscape, nothing alien in it. Needs more work.
5. 'bout this I do not talk, it's eliminated by the author himself.
6. (Bottom left corner) Same as second, composition is not that good as for the pic nr 2.
7. Sam concept as nr 2. it has more depth (perspective), but I am still not sure if you are allowed to use a person to give scale to the scene.
8. Bottom right corner. Could be a winner but for the moment it is too ellusive. I mean it needs work, man !
