View Full Version : THE best way to UV map

I'm doing a very complicated model, and I remember seeing somewhere on the net that someone had a process where they took the object they wanted to map, duplicated, and then "unwrapped" it in 3d.

So they basically had one version that was a 3d version of a 2d UV map and then the original (complicated) model.

Then he copied the flattened's uvs over to be the original's.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?
