View Full Version : Mayonnaise pot
cmortier 06-05-2002, 07:23 PM Hi,
Here is a mayonnaise pot that will be part of the sets of my next animated short (also my first), there will be closups of the main character just next and on top of it.
Any comments ?

Too clean; it doesn't necessarily have to be really dirty. I know this animation most likely will be executed in a cartoony style, although the label just seems a bit bright (doesn't seem like printed paper)...
I think a simple fix would be to just add bump to all your materials.

Thanks for the comments, I will add bump texture map on the label... and check if I can improve the label, it has just a color map for now.

It looks really cartoony. Is that the way you want it?

The short will have a sort of cartoon look, yes.
This is a story with animated matches and candles... but the props must be a little photorealistic. In fact, I currently model the entire kitchen.
The rendering must also be relatively fast, so I will not add displacement map or things like that to the props.

uh-oh, watch it, don't just bump everything. instead try and find the material you want in real life and study it, if you need bump, then fine, but try to create its other properties too, like paper structure, incidence and stuff like that
