Dear colleagues,

I am happy to announce CGTrader (www.cgtrader.com) open-beta. For those who doesn't know, we are 3d content marketplace where sellers can earn 100%. Instead of paying commissions, sellers simply rent slots for objects they want to sell. In other words you pay a flat fee for product activation and every time you sell that product, you get 100%.

During closed-beta we have added a few very interesting features. Now there are two types of slots:

Onetime Slot - $5 (Activate product until the next purchase)
Annual Slot - $20 (Activate product for one year)

It would be unrewarding to pay rent in advance for every new object, especially seeing as you don‘t know whether or not it is saleable. This applies in particular to those who already have a large collection of objects. In order to get around this, we do not require activation for newly uploaded objects. This means that you don‘t need to rent a slot for your product until it has been sold at least once.

How CGTrader works:
Connect CGTrader with your Paypal account
Upload a 3D model to your CGTrader account
It stays published until someone buys it
When it is sold for the first time, you get 100%
Then you need to assign Onetime or Annual slot for it

By choosing to sell on CGTrader, you also get to enjoy other benefits such as:
No IRS taxes or tricky ITIN forms
No payment delays – receive royalties instantly
All earnings go directly into your Paypal account
No exclusivity requirements

We also implemented Referral Invitation system. Every new user you invite to CGTrader will become your permanent referral who will constantly earn you free slots. When referral will buy or sell an item we will give you one credit. For 5 credits you will get 1 extra Onetime slot. If you have talented colleagues that do quality 3d modeling, have regular customers who are interested in your 3d modeling services or know someone who might be interested in buying 3d models, invite them to CGTrader. They will help you sell totally free of charge. Don’t waste your time, invite them before someone else does.

We are right now at open-beta stage so there might be some minor bugs and errors, which we will solve in coming days. If you found a bug or have any suggestion you can use "Leave Feedback" button on the menu bar.

Hi bearfoot,

sure, you can find it in our http://www.cgtrader.com/Terms-and-Conditions/?plain=1 under section
IV. TERMS OF LICENSE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE SELLER AND THE BUYER

Our sellers can choose between three license types:
1. General License - mostly used general type of license
2. Editorial License - for journalistic, editorial, cultural or otherwise newsworthy value.
3. Custom License - if seller wants to provide his own additions or exceptions to General Lincense

Tell me if you need more help on this.

ipisoft, glad you like CGTrader concept, we look forward to you joining us!

just had a thought

how are going to stop people just uploading the same product over and over again to avoid paying the hosting fee?

do you check every product that's uploaded against what the seller has sold in the past?

sorry if this is a daft question

That's a very good question. First of all it will be unrewarding for sellers to do this, because they will need customer ratings, registration date, sales volume per product which are at the core of our system. Without it a seller won't be able to get Quality Promotion and become Trusted Vendor. Without these things his products will be at the end of the list and without any guarantee for customers.

We also use statistical methods and back-end tracking system that will let us easily detect anyone who will try to abuse our policies.
