I want to make my own weapon model and put it in a game like morrowind or maybe battlefeild 1942(just replace the assault rifle with my model for example.) Is it possible to do this with free software like GMAX? It doesn't have to be textured yet.

And btw is it possible to change my username for this account?

You can export to quake3 md3 format from gmax, then import into milkshape (google for the site), milk shape will then let u export to nearly any game format.

He meant free softwares,I personally used Milkshape for a long time and I don't really miss it,sure it supports alot of game formats but the modeling vs time spent is just not what I'm looking for anymore.

You can open and save many formats using the last free Lihtunwrap or one of the multitudes of convertors found over the internet...

http://www.polycount.com

This is a good place to start.

Or you can get a modding kit, this one is said to be Gmax enabled in the next version.

Ca you tell me what "Lihtunwrap" is?

I checked the site : http://www.polycount.com alittle and I can't find the converters. Where are they? Are they converters for bf 1942?

Then there's a program called gamespace. What is the biggest different in that program and 3ds max? I know 3ds max cost a hell of alot more. But in gamespace do I get everything that 3ds max has?

Gmax is free...

Milkshape is free for 30 days and very cheap like 30$ after i think.
