TROY, MI - May 6, 2011 - RIO, Tron, Hanna Montana the Movie, Madden ’08, what do these movies and video games have in common, noted animator Jim Jackson. From film to video games Jim Jackson has served as an animator for more than 20 years and is bringing his animation expertise to Detroit on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 7:00 pm. at the Next wave Media Studio 950 Stephenson Highway in Troy. Jim, who has worked on numerous animated feature films such as The Lion King, Brother Bear, Lilo and Stitch, will give an animation presentation on his career as an animator and highlight his recent work on the animated film RIO as lead animator, bringing various characters in the film to life.

Jim currently works for Blue Sky Studios, the studio responsible for animated films such as Ice Age, Robots and Horton Hears a Who. Prior to his arrival at Blue Sky Studios he worked as animator for several video games and a number of projects for Walt Disney Feature Animation.

RIO is a 2011 American 3D computer-animated comedy film and Blue Sky Studio’s sixth feature film under the distribution of 20th Century Fox.
