View Full Version : surface editor
Mr. Brown 06-05-2002, 05:45 PM let's sya i take an object and then duplicate it in LWLayout. how can i give the two identical objects different parameters in the surface editor? they seem to be linked in some way and i can't apply different settings to them.
ps: i'm VERY new to LW ...

each object has individual properties if you change one it is still the same object as the other so the other is updated
if you go into windows and just duplicate the file and name it "object_name_02" then you can import your new object and change it color
also
in the surface editor on the right over where it show all your surface names there is a seting on top called sort bye object or sort bye scene
if you have it set to scene then every surface w/ the same name will have the same surface
if you are doing bye object then each object can have a different surfface even w/ the same name
don't forget to save all objects from layout if you are surfacing in it
hope that helps
