View Full Version : Velvet Texture setup?....

Before anyone bites my head off for starting another thread on velvet textures... i just want to say i couldn't find the old one that was here.
Anyhow, i was wondering if someone had come up with a definitive, or just successful way of producing a velvet texture?...
I've done a lot of mucking around, but i still cant seem to get the result that i visualise in my head... hmmm... could be the head, but still any help would be appreciated.

I've never made a velvet mat, but if I had to...


Oren-Nayer-Blinn shader

Glossiness to around 30

Perp/parallel Falloff in diff channel, with two slightly different colours in each.

Fresnel Falloff mask in Spec and reflection channels.

Tweek

...is where I would start.
