Hi all,

I want to make a car in 3dsmax so I got blueprints from suurland.com, BUT!!! when I attach them to a plane and push show map in viewport. These maps look soooo f*cked up. It's only a few pixels then... can anyone tell me why?? And howto fix this problem??? I want nice sharp pictures as references in my viewports.

THnx,

First thing you might try is to change the viewport porperties. Under customize click preferences. Find the viewport tab. Now in lower right corner is a button that says Configure driver. click on it, and look for the settings that say download texture ,and background texture. The higher the quality 256/512, etc... the better the image will show up in the viewport. It does take a toll on your video memory and card performance though so beware.

Hope that helped. :)

Another tip for working with blueprints ( I know it can be a nightmare!) is to re-draw the lines in Illustrator (or even Max). You'll find it much more helpfull when you need to zoom in close - and you can also use the curves to help you build it!

Good luck!
