What is it?
Let me introduce you to G-XIII. A CG short film that was started for the love of CG film making and is well underway. We have a great crew already but we still have a ton more work to do. The ultimate goal is to get it submitted to film festivals and get some international recognition for our work, which is why we are working on this on our spare time with no budget. As a matter of fact, I have spent quite a bit out of pocket to get this film made (mocap studio, etc), and don't expect to get any of it back. We just want to make a name for ourselves.

What we need?
We have a pretty solid team already but are looking for a few talented souls to contribute in areas that we lack (but are crucial to the success of this project). Check out the production blog at www.G-XIII.com so you can see some of our progress so far. There is alot that has not been published to protect the story (and the twist ending), but you can get a broad idea of the project's direction there. You will be filled in if you join the team.

Positions Needed
Crowd Simulation Specialist (Maya experience required)
Composer (Preferably someone with experience in film scoring)
Foley Artist (Sound effects pro)

Of course all recognition will be given for your work in the credits of the film as well as on the site (with a link to your site). If you think you can contribute to the project, just reply to this thread or send me a PM and we can talk.

Thanks for looking.

Welcome to the collab forum guys.

Regardless of response(or lack of:)) please consider making a regular stop here for your teams wips, info, updates etc.

It seems quiet at times, but there's a loyal group who regularly drop in to see what's up and learn from any info sharded -progress -ovecoming obstacles...

PS: if you ever need VFX assist/consulting let me know and I'll try to help.

Thanks for the reply. I will definitely start a new thread in the WIP section to post updates and get critiques. We can definitely use some fresh eyes looking at it.

And about the VFX work, you don't happen to have some crowd simulation experience do you? I have the characters modeled and rigged, and I have the motion capture I want to use, but It seems like a daunting task to do them individually. Even instancing them wouldn't work because you would have to offset the animation. I'll probably post it to the WIP forum and see if anyone can help there as well.

Thanks again for looking.

You guys are pretty serious...was looking at your moco session vid on Vimeo. nice!
We need more people doing projects like this in here. Looking forward to seeing your WIP.
Add you as a contact as well. ;)

For your crowd sim, some questions-
I assume you already have the rigs accepting your MB mocap?
What are you rendering with?
How many actors will you have in the largest scene?
What are they doing?
How close to the camera will they be?
Are they locked shot or can you have motion blur?

Absolutely. We are going all out on this one. Hopefully this will lead to more projects like this, but one step at a time. Definitely stay in touch. I am an effects guy myself so we might end up working together in the future.

I'll send you a PM about the crowd sim.
