This is my first very basic concept sketch, but I think I'm going for something pretty ornate. Liquid-filled glowing orbs are entertwined with the alien material. A massive off-color (other than blue) sea may be off in the distance. Anyway, just some ideas...

BTW, this is my first post in the CGTalk Forum.

My exhisiting gallery can be found at (a renderosity account is free as well) - http://www.renderosity.com/gallery.ez?ByArtist=Yes&Artist=EricClaeys

Just experimenting with a little color.

Hopefully this just attaches to my first post...

Just another quick idea - more collosul pillars.

I really like your style in the second entry.. I kind of reminds of the artwork from the animations in the "Monty Python" movies! I could see it 3d with cell shading.

The last entry is cool also, but kind lacks the depth that the second one has. Perhaps some more layers in the background to add some perspective.
