First 'showoff' of my own art around here... This is half a year old, but I'm still working on it, so any and all C&C are very appreciated!
It's done in Painter Classic from a scanned sketch.

(sorry for the size)

At first I thought her top was part of her hair.
Looks great.
I think the eye should lock a gaze with the viewer.... she is currently looking up slightly to the right.

Maybe some eyelashes too.

But tell us what direction you want to go in.
Are you done with it?
Do you want her face to have correct proportions?
Do you want to make her sad? mysterious?

you've captured the sadness well, I agree she needs eyelashes and maybe smudge the feathers edges a little?!? Nice piece.

i like your style...its very unique and i've rarely seen anything like it. what is your inspiration? or better yet who did you emulate when learning to draw? you could totally make a radical childrens book using your style.

Actually, she's meant to look up, past the viewer, but perhaps she'd look better looking straight at the viewer... I'll try it out and see if it looks better. And eyelashes will be added :)

As for direction, I'm trying to get it semi-realistic at least since I doubt I could do it realistically. I'm not done with her since I've noticed that I need to correct the length of her nose and add more shading.
She's sad, but you could say that this picture is to depict both sadness and mysteriousness, due to her character (which I won't go into, it would take up too much space ;) )

Smudging of the feathers edges will be done, thanks for pointing it out :)

mirainokirby: I take my inspiration from music, movies, other artists, the people around me.. Same as most artists, I think. As for my style, I think it's a mix of my personal style I had when I were little with comic/manga/disney style... I've always wanted to be pretty unique stylwise but never felt that I succeeded so I've tried several different styles so I guess my style's just a mix of most other styles I've seen :)
And thanks for liking me style!

Thanks for the comments guys! :D
