done this today for a character thats supposed to make my high school's year book sports page alongside hockey/basketball/soccer/volleyball,etc stuff(like balls and eqp) and since i'm deprived of skills when it comes to making humans(altho the character is human) i'm going to use gloves to cover its hands.

this i did just on the top view and side views and then applied a meshsmooth and a bend modifier(i dont know if i should just apply bend or try to twist it the old fashioned way).

this is the top padding(basically the first layer) and then i have to do the inner layer of the glove.

when its finished hopefully i'll be able to uvw unwrap it and get some nice names/symbols on it.

any directions?(i know looks like plastic now..lol..so except for that)

you need to dirty it up and bit more with layered texturing and also i would use some bones to bend it into a shape for more realism. and btw i love your icon and i use the word ownage a lot as well. High fives for you!

duuuuude,

for starters, please get some reference pics, or better yet borrow a real hockey glove! i don't know where your skills are at, but it looks too robotic, like outta a sci-fi movie. Sounds like yer not gonna be animating it, so u might as well model it in a pose cause yer not gonna be putting bones in it later. I hope i don't discourage u too much, but i think it'd be easier to start again. Start with the general shape of a basic hand, and then just enlarge certain parts of it to give it the puffy/pad look. Cause right now, it doesn't look wearable, it's too tubular. Get yer hands on a nice Easton or Mission hockey glove, those'll look nice!

goodluck, u got lots of time before it's Annual deadline time.

I have regular hockey and goalie gear and a good digital camera. If you need some reference shots, I can provide you with some.

Just reply to the post including your email address and I can have them to you in a few hours
