hola.
i'm beginning another project that is a condominium development computer animation. the development is made up of two prototypes of condominiums. what i would love to do is actually use mental ray to bake lighting onto the condos and then animate the scene without having to do any additional lighting.
questions:
1. anyone have any suggestions how to go about the best way to approach this?
2. should i place all the condos in my scene and then let the scene render all the lighting (which could take forever i suppose)?
3. do the lighting on each condo in it's own scene and then merge it into the the master scene?
4. should i only bake the lighting on the condos and then animate using a shadow map light for the sit?
5. should i bake the shadows onto the site (fairly extensive site)?
lots of questions. lots of work. if only they hadnt implimented those darn child labor laws. bummer.
any suggestions would be appreciated. ohh, i'm using maya complete 4.5.
buenos nachos.
