Looks like you have it roughed out good so far...
First thing is the eyes, they are too high.
Nose is too long.
Mouth looks a bit too wide.
Are you going to add ears?
What about the neck?
Keep working on it!

I agree with the advice above. Is the model going to be a human or some type of monster? Like an orc?
Also, make you sure have alot of reference handy.
A bit of an update:
[EDIT]: now around 457 polys
also a couple of comments on this update would be nice

Ok a little update, added eyes and ears.
Not that happy with the look of it tho or the poly count (just over 700 polys)

Hey RDK im gonna give you some crit if you don't mind. I think you have a handle on the software and such, but your proportions are not quite correct for this head.
The guidelines I like to use can be found in this book:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0399507914/qid=1023645400/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/103-2555236-7236630
It's "How to draw the head and figure" by Jack Hamm. He has some great diagrams that break down the structure of the human head and make it easy to diagnose what is wrong with models. Check it out, only $10!
The actual topology of your head is not bad, but where the features lay is quite off. I'd say start by shrinking your eyes by about 30-50%. Then measure their width and make the base of the nose that wide. Then draw a line from between the eyes to the horizontal extreme of the nose on the left and right... extend that line past the mouth. That is how wide the mouth should be, touching those lines. Also, the head in its entirety should be 5 eyes wide from the front vertical center, with the eyes being one eye apart.
There are a ton of guidelines that really help with this stuff and what I've put down is only a small portion. Although you don't want to be a total robot about it, referring t o them will give you the ability to diagnose what is wrong with a face and help you iterate enough times to get it right. After a while it will just become second nature... but it is definitely LEARNED.
Good luck.
Thank you very much suck, I will look into buying that book.

ya i would just concentrate on anatomy. your eyes are a little strange. unless that is what the character calls for. can u post a concept drawing for your character?
No concept, just been making this from scratch poly by poly in the perspective, I agree with the eyes, they look like shit heh
