View Full Version : Hardware render buffer idiocy!!!!!
Dave Hackett 06-05-2002, 04:34 AM I am sure some of you guys out there are familiar with SGI's now defunct 320/540 line. I have a 320, and guess what? Their "unique" architecture has no hardware render buffer. So Particle rendering is limited to software only. For those unfamiliar with these machines, they have no graphics card. They have a chipset built right into the ram. Great machines, but a bit odd.

Some guys say that it was possible.
But they are all happy to have another workstation now.
