what is the difference between these two video cards.
I mean in technical features and in numbers. I know the quadro is pro card and geforce fx is a gaming card. but how many oixels can each push what is the bandwith.

You aren't going to see much of a performence increase with the Quadro FX 500 over the GeForce FX 5200. They are pretty close to being the same card. You'll only notice a difference once you get up into the Quadro FX 1000 and beyond.

A Quadro FX 500 for 78$? Uhh that's like a $300+ card. I dunno if it would be worth it or not to be honest. You could at least turn around and ebay it for more than what you paid heh.

It performs significantly faster (several hundred percent in FPS) in some applications (like max and viz) and "a little" faster in others. And it's (supposedly) more stable and has fewer artifacts in most 3d programs. Definitely buy it.

if you're a 3ds max user it also means you can use the nvidia maxtreme drivers in max, which is "a good thing" (tm).
