For organizational reasons i want to copy keys from my base layer to new layers.
When i do this i get a Warning "Copying keyframes between layers may give unpredictable Results"

What are the Reasons for this Warning? Seems that it has something to do with Rotationorders???
Even by changing the Rotationorder i get no results? Is there a workaround for this issue?

thxs :)

It's because the layers works in an additive way. That means each new layer have a new zero value for the layer below. So if the base layer has a value of 10 and you paste that key on layer one you get 10+10 = 20 instead. Then you could potentially go into base layer and zero it out, that should work I think.. haven't tried it myself . :)

These were my first thoughts as well, but there is no difference if you cut&paste instead of copy&paste.
There must be something else...

But cut doesn't zero out the previous layer, it keeps the first frame offseted so you'll have to zero it manually instead.

Of course! You are right. How stupid of me.

Fortunately Mobu from 2011 on supports "Override" Layer Mode. There you can cut&paste your keys^^

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up. I used 7.5 ext. 2 at DICE and now I use 2010 at starbreeze so, haven't tried 2011 properly yet. From my experience motionbuilder has only gone downhill for each new release after 7.5.

Yeah...
Somehow Motionbuilder becomes stunted by Autodesk.
I started with Filmbox years ago and most of the cool features were placed into maya instead of upgrading Mobu.
The last big thing in Mobu was the Physics/Ragdoll stuff, even if it's hardly useful.
The 2012 Release is just a bad joke. There is nothing really new.
And again, cool features like editable motiontrails went into maya.

Maybe the time has come to switch completely to maya.
