Hi and thanks for your time!

when I move one limb effector along one axis, other effectors on the limb move not in two, but in all three axes (see pictures)! Any way to switch this off or prevent it, please? It introduces terrible shaking to my keyframing animation.

Many thanks for any kind help!

Best regards,

PH

Hi,
It's because of you're using IK effectors which are controlled by a rotation plane solver. The behavior of this solver depends on the structure and the placement of joints in your character.

Did you animate your character frame by frame?! Did you ever try the pose to pose method for animating your characters? I think the frame by frame technique is a very tough procedure for animating CG characters.

Thanks for your reply! It is probably because I come from Max that I have trouble adjusting to the way MB treats rigs. I've had a very nice reply to the same question I posted at Area. It is about how to lock skeleton limbs which though not very practical solves this issue. I think I may use it at the beginning of my animation. Oh and yes, I am keyframing. Tough? I dunno. I like it :-) It's quite a reward when the animation "clicks".

Best regards,

PH
