Hopefully someone knows the answer to some questions regading this "learning edition" release of Maya.

They state that it will have a watermark.... any idea how tacky this watermark will be? Such as, displaying the word Maya diagonally across the image so you really cant see what you made.

The other point I'm curious about is they say the images will be in a proprietary format. I assume that means so that you can only view it with their software and not bring it in to photoshop.

Anyone know exactly how these two items look in this release?

Thanks

Maya PLE will be released for both Windows and Mac OS X. The output images from the Personal Learning Edition will be in standard formats and readable in PShop or whatever. They will have a watermark that is visible, but semi-transparent and not in your face (of course this is a matter of opinion but that is the intent and it will look different according to the surrounding image). Maya PLE will save scene files to its own format (I am not talking about image files here) that is not readable by commercial versions of Maya. The software is essentially full featured other than the above - and the fact that plug-ins will not work with it. Slated for February web release.
