rayguo 10-22-2003, 10:02 AM look at the pic red line area, why the area looks a bit strange?
there are some dark thing on it! what should i to do to kill this?
i already adjust the render aliasing to 0,3 and the FG's accuracy to 2000
i need help~~~~
thanks~~

try doing a region render with the accuracy at 5000 and maybe decrease the radius a bit. I have found little problem areas on faces that are nearly 180 deg from the area and you just have to keep tweaking the values up until you get it.

oh my god!
i give it a value at 20000 the peoblem gone~!!!!
thanks you very much, but i notice the render time is very very long~~ :)
and i notice the rendered pic get a bit brighter then the value at 2000, do you know why this happened?
thanks agian~~~~ :)
Well as you adjust the accuracy, the sensitivity to the radience of your objects increases... you'll need to lower the radience values of each of your materials. As for the render times... that's how it goes. I have been rendering 100 frames w/ FG & GI for the last 3 days and it won't be done till tonight. You just have to get used to it.
Glad I could help.

i dunno... but in maya when i encounter this issue i usualli adjust the min and maxradius of the gathering.. never go up than 4000 gather rays...I don't understand XSI.. so if this does not help you, just don't care about..
good luck!

wow, JDex, your computer is computing your work for whole 3 days and not finish now? my god... i feel a bit tremble...i dont want to be that!~do you konw how long per frame?
and, can i scale down the reflector's(3 grid objects here) size to solve the "brighter" question??
thank you agian!!, you give me a big help~~~

hi Elvis75k
which render do you use for that? MR?
i already adjust the min/max value to 0 and increase the accuracy to 20000, then the problem gone!~~
how long do you render one pic like mine?
thank you~~!!

For stuff like this, you could also try using the dirtmap shader instead of FG to get the effect.

hi tachy0n
thank you~~ i have download all about "ao", few hours ago!!

ok! it is here
http://zzzwz.com/rayguo/fg2.jpg
i am wrong before, so please lower max value(but do not give it value 0) and increase accuracy
this pic max/min is 0.2 accuracy is 2000, for better(but slowly render speed) result can give max/min 0.1 accuracy is 3000(suit this scene)

usually min and max work like this 10/0.1 -> max/min. In other words min=max/10. es.: max=3 .. min=0.3 You can find some usefull trix to this LINK (http://www.steven-tubbrit.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/)

Hi, i like to see a render with this parameter
aliasing -1 / 2
Jitter enable
Threshold 0.06
filter Lanczos 2/2
FG
min 0.05
max "the max value of Automatic Compute"
Accuracy 1500
cya! pierre ;)

The problem you have doesn't come down to the accuracy, it's more to do with the Min and Max radius.
When I do my renders with FG, I usually have to set my min and max values to something like 0.02 and 0.1 respectively. Try that, with an accuracy value of about 1000, and see what you get. If it still looks wierd, take the min value as far down to 0.001, and see what you get.
The lower the min and max value, the smaller the radius area is for sampling pixels, so you get more samples, hence smoother and more accurate results.

yes KnickKnack
you are right, i found my problem(the red line area), can solove my min/max vaule~~
now the fg is clearly to me to use
but i still need do some test with them to know them more~~
thanks all one here, your help is great to me,
thanks agian~
