both versions looks good. it depends on how you want your character to be like. bigger hands make him feel more like a smasher than a thinker to me. curious to see what comes next, go go !! :)

Hey mates!! yeah i think Ill pick the bigger hands look so he can look more dangerous,
here i post some more ideas :
all armour will be bones plus flesh plus some metalic parts..actually my concept looks too stylish, my final model will be more rough in dimensions i guess :arteest:

hello everyone, decided to sketch something direct into the mesh, im thinking about adding demoniac wings and a heavy shoulderpad, also the weapon will probable be couple of swords, will add some more sketching soon :beer:

At first I was more like "meh ... again a 'dark' god?" but maybe it's your drawing/sculpting style - I really like this. One more thread to watch :)

yo, i was checking your work and i has thinking in what i can say... is advanced... you poulish the ideas from the start, but now i see something to say.
With the wings there, i sense that they are the unique organic shape in the design (talikg about big shapes). May now you can study some extras on the armor to armonice the set, to put some curves there and here.

One thought tho , are the wings the generated in that shape by the spline either ?
I was wondering how they retract ... folds , mechanical retract , energy materialization ... :)

good start. like the massive character.
but i think you could try out some other ideas to push the design even more. first the name god of darkness. i can't see why he deserves the name - because he is dark? :) i would integrate story elements, put some thoughts on his background - what made him the god of darkness. maybe his eyes got burn out, so he can't see anything and is full of rage...don't know -something like this, so you can play with elements, costume design etc. that makes him more unique and interesting :)
the other thing is his design which reminds me of kratos in god of war. just a bulky warrior with wings. right now it looks a bit too generic. i think with a story behind it and integrating fitting elements to his design you could take it to another level.
just some thoughts...

Zykras: hey man, well I just basically use the body-browser as reference each time i sculpt human figure to analyze where muscles start and end... and I had learn a lot using it every time :thumbsup:
VictorFornes: hi man, I think u have a good point there Im trying to integrate an equal part of organic (fleshy) pieces and mech pieces into the design, but i think I need to plan more about the shapes and give it balance that way, the wings are only a test but I think Ill keep the and fix the design so they fit better, thanx for the helpful advice. :thumbsup:
Zapan: Hey man, yeah the wings are supposed to grow from the back and connect to the spine which will be kinda the weak point and source of power of this god. but I havent though a lot on the funtionality of the wings , I was just playing around to see how they look, but I will try to study some to make the fully operational, really thanx man!! :beer: :beer:
MFTituS: Hey man!! very useful input , thanx a lot, your idea of giving him a back ground is great, He is supposed to be a demoniac god, "the devil", I haven't sketched his horns yet, but haven't think on his story yet either, which is a really urgent think to do i guess.. haha
I already have some elements like tattoos , icons for the amour and some other small things that will help me add some more character, but need to do something to push him out from the generic look as you said, well time to get back to the lab!, and thank you so much... see you around man!

hehe, i don't want to push you in a specific direction :) it is you char and do whatever you feel is the best. but thoughts like this helped me in the past to create more credible and interesting chars. otherwise you are just surfing on the "coolness" wave. it is like a quicky - you look at it, think cool and head up for the next picture. too much work for a too short effect ;)
and yes, i also thought about bloody eye areas and his eye holes hidden under something :)

Hello everyone, well I though about some background for this character and well I decided to make him like evil medieval style armour, he hates everything and he wants to destroy all, so hes complete aspect will be dangerous, So no high tech at all in this one, his armour will be pure solid heavy metal! :twisted: with some fleshy connections and bones and skull...so this concept only shows proportions...the pieces look will probably change for the final version.

Here, an other small update, worked the hands armour and added wings structure, theyre dragon style so they can be animated ;), made me think about adding a tail...what do you guys think?

Cool update Jorge. The wings structure looks great ( and maybe can work well like and extra pair of arms instead of wings :D) I like the concept without a tail, but is not a bad idea :) Cool work and waiting for more! Cheers!! :beer:

I added shoulderpads mate, and made some fixes ...What do you think?, tomorrow Ill add some detials everywhere ...but I think Im getting near to complete the HP Mesh :) :beer:

ah, now i can see where you are heading for...cool stuff. like the stone (?) structures on his arms and legs. maybe you could use something like this also for his shoulder pads for a more consistent design. some cubical rocks could give him a more unique look than this often used pad shape :)
his arms of the wings are bugging me a bit - they look too human for my taste. muscles could be thinner and stretched more, some bony areas could be visible, i would get rid of his clear visible hand and make the evolution progress more ;)

Hey Jorge, really great progress. Like the shoulderpads, but like MFTituS suggested maybe you can add some stone attacments like in the boots and arms armour (or maybe another claw finger over the shoulders like the claws over the ribs).
I like the wing arms, yes, are a bit human, but for me, that puts a disturbing dark touch on the design, but is only my personal taste :) (and maybe you can put some bracelets with stone patches in the wing arms, if you decided to go for the more human design).
I think that the breaks and tears on the edge of the wings,make them look more like fabric than skin. Perhaps you can go only with some piercing in the wing skin and some little chains on it, and a few cracks in the wings, I dont know. :D

MFTituS: Hey man happy to see you here again, thanx for the input on this one, yeah I agree in what you say about thearms for the wings so Ill make come tests to see how it works...For the shoulder pads I make like 4 or five tests on shape..and they did feel unconfortable somehow..so I finished up doing these ones more flexible ones..but I will search an element to integrate them more..:)

I've learned a lot in this contest, but one of things I've learned is that I still have a lot to learn about UV's and keeping the poly count low.
