good to get this started ..really geared to go.
BaronImpossible (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=131731) had a great point in page one of the Q&A Thread (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=322&t=965261)
i am currently sketching up 3 ideas , ill pick the best of the three.
but they are all different Gods. so far my top three are..
-god of deceit
-god of malevolence
-god of fallen souls

good luck everyone.
hope to see some of the people from the opening challenge come back!

quick description of where i am going
-god of deceit
lies, trickery and deceit. you see one thing on the surface the truth is not what it seems.
the idea is do have a figure that looks good and pure from one side and evil on the other.
likely a demon-esque male in appearance , lots of armor etc. the evil side shows decay and death. front side will be good almost angelic. paladin like. but the front is thin veil almost a cardboard cut out to mask the demonic god hiding behind it.

-god of malevolence-
destroyer of everything. huge. walks in a city and nothing is left but dust.carries a device or weapon that can destroy anything .likely a mechanical robot or machine god. size of a large building. the weapon is some sort of vorpal , electric vortex, giant blender. he walks in to a city and just picks up buildings, cars, anything and "feeds it" or throws it into the electric vortex and dust comes out the back. needs to be huge to eat a building.

-god of fallen souls
the Valkyries picked up the fallen on the battlefield to bring them back to Valhalla. The god of fallen Souls searches for souls that have fallen from grace. the evil. if they have not left their living bodies he may help expedite the process. he collects them and consumes them so that they may not ever return to form, so he needs to be a force to be reckond with to take the souls of the evil. so big, huge, tank like. he also carries his prison with him. he is a demon-esque male in appearance the evil he has cosumed has transformed his body ( in a dorian grey type way), armor, old school or possibly bio-armour.

Cool ideas, I'm partial to the God of Malevolence myself, but all three are pretty decent.

I enjoy the lost souls fella, especially with the Norse tie ins. The lumbering giant look is cool, and I also really like the sketch that implys multiple extra arms.

no time to sketch out the last one. going with god of lost souls..
wanted to try a celtic influence and an aztec one.
may not have time and have to go with the celtic.
not sure about the helmate look

lorez:

Hey how 's everything, great to see you here, your concept looks great!.. i like the one with mask ... but i may push the second pair of arm to start from more to the back. so that the muscle will be easier to connect to the body. ...cheers!

@KingstonZ (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=367622) -thanks for the input, yea the smaller arms were a bit tricky. i am going to try moving them back into the lats instead of the serratus.

here is my zbrush start..

The type without helmet looks more interresting. It's always better to use facial features to represent intended idea.

Unique and nice creature. looks cool. only one comment is head might need to be little bit more pop out so it could have more definition of neck.
