Hi there,

I've seen some video tutorials reagrding MotionBuilder and Maya.
On every tutorial the mentor said that, if you import a character from Maya, the charater must match the naming convention of Motionbuilder, so that MB can simply handle that. Otherwise, you need manually assign the joints by hand in Motionbuilder.
To prevent additional work, i would like to know what the Naming Convention is. About that nobody talked in the Tutorials. Is there anywhere a list of the Joints how they should be named ?
What is the best progress on that ?

Hi,

I may have just the thing you are looking for.

Sorry it's another tutorial, but I have provided a list of joints and also a way of using your own joint names.

Here's a quick guide to How to characterize your character in MotionBuilder (http://mocappys.com/?p=32) and a general guide to a MotionBuilder Pipeline (http://mocappys.com/?p=90)

Hope these help answer your questions

Let me know how you get on

You just have to look into the Maya Help for the Naming Convention.
