ALIENWARE Challenge Entry: Marc Gilpin

Hello everyone :)

My first posts, first competition, and hopefully the first 'serious' piece of work I will do with the software I've had for years :blush:

Concepts are a bit minimalist graphically compared to some but hopefully conveys some ideas.

First thoughts were to have localised black-holes on the planet, sucking the immediate area in. Possibly these are left over from giant eggs of the ex-inhabitants. Each one would be on a platform floating on a sea/gas/something, leading into the background city of organic towers. The towers seemingly upside down in their structural support.

Can't think of a landscape that seems alien enough, so thinking of making the world mathematically perfect - an orbiting sine wave (or some such shape) that is constantly cycling through it's frequency range. Could present some interesting camera views hopefully.

Hopefully I'll get the time to develop this properly, should be good fun anyway!

Still sticking with a black hole/wormhole type thing, but within a doughnut shaped world. Outer surface would be gaseous/liquid held in place by internal/external pressures. Wormhole providing light and energy.
Using the organic towers again, but more out of balance.
Not sure about the field of view from the surface, will have to investigate.

Again, trying to get something that would be difficult to construct in our world.
Not sure what would happen underneath all of this yet either.

I don't know how others are able to do full colour pictures so quickly. It takes enough for me to do a basic sketch :shrug:
