View Full Version : modular pieces w/ diff textures

im trying to build some ruins, kind of like a temple type thing
and i wanted to create it with modular pieces
then break parts of it up since its going to be ... well ... broken ruins

but since its all modular all of the pieces are going to be useing the
same texture maps

if i wanted to create different types of decay on the modular components
like cracks and small broken off pieces etc
what would be the best method of doing something like that?

im not really sure how to because all the pieces have the same material
if theyre going to have unique cracks and stuff, the modular pieces would need
unique materials right. their must be an easier way of generating these decayed wall
details without going back and generating unique materials for each piece

like decals, or mesh painting in UDK or something like that
